Mountain Land Physical Therapy Partners

Standardizing Technology Across More Than 70 Healthcare Locations

Overview

As one of the largest outpatient physical therapy providers in the Mountain West, Mountain Land Physical Therapy Partners (MLPT) operates more than 70 clinics across Utah, Idaho, and Montana. Through a combination of organic growth, new clinic development, and strategic acquisitions, the organization has expanded rapidly while maintaining a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

As the business grew, so did the complexity of its technology environment. Multiple brands, locations, systems, and hardware standards created operational challenges that made it increasingly difficult to deliver a consistent, secure, and scalable experience across the organization.

To support its continued growth, MLPT partnered with Universal Systems to modernize and standardize technology across its entire footprint.

The Challenge

Years of expansion had created a patchwork of technology environments across the organization.

Different clinics operated on different network architectures, hardware platforms, wireless configurations, and support models. As new locations were added through acquisitions and organic growth, maintaining consistency became increasingly difficult. The result was a technology environment that was harder to manage, more expensive to support, and more challenging to scale.

MLPT's leadership team recognized the need for a unified technology strategy that would support future growth while improving security, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Working alongside Executive Director of IT & Security Jeremy Memmott, the goal was clear: create a standardized technology foundation that would provide a consistent experience for employees, simplify management, and enable rapid support across every location.

The Solution

Universal Systems worked closely with MLPT's technology leadership to design, procure, deploy, and support a modernized technology infrastructure across more than 70 clinics throughout the Mountain West.

Together, our teams developed a standardized architecture that could be replicated across locations while remaining flexible enough to support future growth.

The project included large-scale replacement and deployment of networking infrastructure, endpoint devices, conference room technology, and clinical workstations. Every system was carefully planned, configured, staged, and tested by the Universal Systems team before deployment.

Key initiatives included:

  • Standardization of routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points

  • Deployment of enterprise-grade desktop hardware across clinics

  • Microsoft tenant enrollment and automated device provisioning

  • Imaging, configuration, and validation of endpoint devices

  • Audiovisual, and collaboration technology installations

  • Architecture planning and technology consulting

  • Logistics coordination across more than 70 locations

All systems were built, configured, and supported through Universal Systems' Salt Lake City headquarters, creating a repeatable process that improved deployment speed while reducing operational complexity.

The Impact

By standardizing technology across its entire organization, MLPT established a scalable foundation capable of supporting continued growth for years to come.

The new environment provides a more consistent user experience across locations, improved security controls, simplified device management, and faster support for clinic staff. Technology teams can now manage and troubleshoot systems remotely, reducing downtime and improving responsiveness across the organization.

Perhaps most importantly, MLPT's internal IT team can focus more time on strategic initiatives rather than managing inconsistent infrastructure across dozens of locations.

Today, Universal Systems continues to serve as a trusted technology partner, providing ongoing support and helping ensure the organization's technology environment evolves alongside the needs of its patients and clinicians.

Customer Perspective

"As our organization grew, maintaining consistency across dozens of locations became increasingly challenging. Universal Systems helped us transform that complexity into a standardized, scalable technology environment that supports both our teams and our long-term growth strategy. Their team became a true extension of ours throughout the process."
